At about 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, a school bus came in contact with low hanging utility lines and pulled them down onto the bus while travelling on Guilford Road in College Park. The approximately 40 students on-board from the Hyattsville Middle School remained calm as College Park Firefighters took all required precautions in dealing with downed overhead utility lines and stood-by awaiting the arrival of a utility company. PEPCO arrived just before 4:00 pm and removed the potential hazards from the bus. No injuries occurred.
