The Public Safety Food Basket Program is in Need of Donations

The Annual Food Basket Program is well underway and is in need of community support. The Prince George’s County Public Safety Assistance Program, Inc. is asking for support in the form of canned goods and/or monetary donations. The program hopes to deliver as many as 3000 food baskets throughout the County and provide a holiday meal to needy families. The program relies on donations to make this program a reality. The men and women of your Fire/EMS Department, Police Department, Department of Corrections, and Public Safety Communications look forward each year to compiling and delivering food baskets to our families in need and are counting on your generosity.

You can donate canned goods by December 17, 2010, and monetary contributions anytime. The Prince George’s County Public Assistance Program, Inc. is a 501c3 organization and contributions are tax deductible. Mail monetary donations to FOOD, P.O. Box 548, Upper Marlboro, MD, 20773. Food donations can be made at collection sites at all Fire/EMS Stations, Police Stations, Sheriff’s Office, Court House, County Administration Building and most County office buildings.

There will be a media event on Monday, December 20, 2010, at the Bunker Hill Fire/EMS Station, 3716 Rhode Island Avenue, Brentwood, MD, 20722, at 8:30 am. This event will include elected and public safety leaders filling baskets with food products, loading the baskets and then delivering them to pre-identified locations.
