Hurricane Irene Being Monitored


Prince George's County is monitoring Hurricane Irene. There are currently no watches or warnings issued for our area. Emergency management personnel will provide updates on the weather forecast as more information becomes available for our area.  The time of concern include Saturday and Sunday and may involve high winds and flooding rains.
Citizens, residents and visitors are advised to stay tuned to weather forecasts and to keep an eye on the weather to have time to make appropriate precautions.
Residents should begin preparations by checking their emergency kits, securing loose objects such as trash cans, lawn furniture, etc.
For assistance in preparing for whatever "Mean Irene" could bring check  the Federal Emergency Management Agency website at www.ready.gov.
