The Prince George's County Fire/Emergency Medical Services Department received notification that Fire Fighter/Medic Technician William A. Lawman was involved in a serious crash while on the way to work this morning. Lawman was involved in a crash involving a tractor-trailer at Route 301 and Bel Alton Road in Charles County. His current assignment is at the Clinton Fire/EMS Station #825.
Once extricated, Lawman was flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 2 to the Trauma Center at Prince George's Hospital Center. He has numerous injuries, however, none are considered life threatening.
Major Paul Cruz notified the Department by way of Email that, "He is in good spirits. There is sufficient FD representation at the hospital and family members are present. FT Lawman's and his family's needs are being met. FD Personnel were asked to please refrain at this point from coming to the hospital."
Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery are with Will Lawman and family.
