Fort Washington House Fire - Lenham Drive

Prince George's County Firefighters battled a fire in a 2-story, split level, single family Fort Washington home this afternoon.  Fire/EMS units were alerted to the fire at around 1:00 pm, Wednesday, in the 7400 block of Lenham Drive and arrived to find fire showing from a top floor window.  The fire was knocked down within about 15 minutes by the 25 firefighters on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  It appears the fire started in a top floor bedroom with the fire extending into the attic and through the roof before being contained.  Fire loss is estimated at $100,000.  An adult female will be displaced and is making her own arrangements for temporary housing.

No injuries were reported.
