The New Carrollton investigation concerning the fire at 7602 Fontainebleau Drive that occurred on Sunday, January 2013, is a joint investigation with the New Carrollton Police Department, County Police Department and Fire Investigations. Two civilian fatalities occurred.
The Fire/EMS Department Office of the Fire Marshall will be conducting the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire. Fire Investigators have provided a preliminary fire loss estimate of $200,000 to the structure and contents.
The preliminary cause of the fire is suspicious.
The County Police Department is taking the lead into the investigation and therefore the release of any information is the responsibility of the County Police Department Public Information Office.
