At about 10:45 am, Tuesday, August 13, Prince George's County Firefighters, Medics and the Technical Rescue Team were alerted to a motor vehicle crash with potential for water and a high angle rescue.  A vehicle was traveling north, Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway, and had entered the ramp to go north on Interstate 95.  For whatever reason the vehicle left the roadway going over a guardrail coming to rest on a creek bed about 30 feet below the street level.

First arriving firefighters and paramedics assessed the patients injuries and determined she would need to removed by way of a stokes basket using ropes and pulleys.

The Technical Rescue Team from Berwyn Heights and St. Joseph's went to work and had the patient packaged, hoisted and in the hands of paramedics within 45 minutes.

The patient, an adult female approximately 30 years of age, was taken by paramedics to a nearby Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries.  The Maryland State Police - College Park was the investigating agency.
