Patrick B. Miller - Past Volunteer Member Passes Away

Past member of Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department, Patrick B. Miller died on June 29, 2013. He was a member of HVFD from 1979-1986, in which he was the recipient of the Bronze Star of Valor in 1981 for a water rescue incident. Pat was well-known among many career and volunteer members of the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.

He was also a faithful participant to the Public Safety Food Basket Program, alongside Deputy Chief Karl Granzow, Sr. and Major Edward Feeney, from 1986-1992 and established the customer tracking computer spreadsheet for the program. He also served as the Vice President of HVFD. He was critically injured in 1986 following a Truck accident while working as an oil delivery driver that left him confined to a wheelchair until his death.  

There will be a gathering at his home : 17416 Astoria Lane, Silver Spring, MD from 2-8pm on August 24, 2013. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to bring a covered dish.
