BOWIE HOUSE FIRE - CROYDON LANE

Firefighters from the Bowie area fought a well advanced fire in a Bowie home early this morning. Just after 1:30 am, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, firefighters arrived at the 1-sotry ranch style home in the 4000 block of Croydon Lane with heavy fire showing. About 10 minutes after the firefighter’s arrival a large portion of the roof collapsed. It required about 45 minutes to knock down the bulk of the fire. The home was unoccupied and no injures were reported.


After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found a quantity of CDS inside the house. Police were immediately notified and reported to the scene. The City of Bowie Police Department and the County Police Department will be handling the CDS portion of the investigation while Fire Investigators will continue to search for the origin and cause of the fire. The case remains open and under investigation. Fire loss is estimated at $200,000.
