The DC Generals Police and Fire Charity Football Team will host the Orlando Guardians in a full contact charity football game on Saturday, April 10th, 2010; 4:30PM at Fairfax High School (http://www.fairfaxhighsports.org/), 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax, VA 22030.

Besides spirited competition, game day events will include a special appearance by the Fairfax County USAR Team that served during the earthquake in Haiti, a performance by Fire Department Pipes and Drums Corps, a Fire Department Color Guard and a check presentation to the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. Many local businesses and team sponsors will be on hand with display tables and special contests to involve spectators. There will also be fire safety information and displays on hand to educate fans on the important points of fire safety.

Both teams compete as part of the National Public Safety League (http://www.npsfl.com/) consisting of teams comprised only of Professional Firefighters, Emergency Medical Providers and Police Officers. The DC Generals players are professional firefighters and police officers from almost every jurisdiction in the Washington Metro area including the DCFD, MPD, PGFD, PGPD, Fairfax Fire, Capital Police and Montgomery County Police and Fire Departments just to name a few.

All teams compete to raise money for a selected charity. The DC Generals compete to raise money for both the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation (http://www.dcffburnfoundation.org/) which provides support to the Washington Hospital Center Burn Unit as well as the DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (http://www.dc-cops.org/) which provides support to families of fallen officers.
