Ambulance Involved in Crash

At approximately 2330 hours last night a county ambulance assigned to Company 808, Seat Pleasant, was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Addison Road in Chapel Oaks, Maryland.

Fire & EMS units quickly arrived on the scene and evaluated a total of four patients with everyone being okay and receiving only minor injuries. The civilian driver refused transport, and two firefighter/EMTs and another patient were transported to area hospitals for further evaluation. All are expected to be release from the hospital today.

There were approximately 10 firefighters and paramedics on the scene that supported this operation. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Prince George's Police Department.

Additionally, in accordance with Fire/EMS department regulations, a post-accident drug/alcohol screening will be conducted with ambulance driver.
