Prince George's County Acting Fire Chief Marc S. Bashoor announced the command staff reorganization this afternoon. In briefing his command staff about the changes, which take effect Monday, December 13, 2010, he stated, "While a significant amount of continued evaluation and reflection remains to occur, it is clear to me that some quick changes are needed." The most significant change is the number of commands are now three: Emergency Operations, Special Operations and Administrative Services. Additionally, a Technical Services Division has been created to effectively organize the resources of these special services.
In conclusion of the briefing, Bashoor said, "There will be additional changes coming very soon, primarily at the battalion level, I trust we will settle down together into a familiar rhythm of smooth and seamless operations.
