Greenbelt “Police & Fire Holiday Shop-Along”

Shop-Along Group at the present-wrapping party held at the Greenbelt Fire/EMS Station.
The Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department and Greenbelt Police Department partnered for the first annual “Police & Fire Holiday Shop-Along” that occurred on Sunday, December 19th at the Target in Beltway Plaza. This program partners less fortunate children from the community with Greenbelt Police Officers and Firefighters, allowing the children to purchase Christmas presents for themselves as well as family members. Each child was allotted a budget of $125 and escorted to the store to make the purchases. The children were then brought back to a “present wrapping” party where they enjoyed pizza while they wrapped their gifts at the Greenbelt Fire/EMS Station. The children were selected to participate through nominations by their elementary school.

The Greenbelt Police Department and the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend their sincere thanks to those of you who donated to the first annual Police & Fire Holiday Shop-Along. It was a huge success and several children of Greenbelt were helped as a result of your generosity. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause.
