The Prince George's County Fire/Emergency Medical Services Department Fourth Battalion held a charity fundraising event that had participants literally losing their hair.  Volunteers members from College Park, Hyattsville, Bladensburg and Riverdale organized the St. Baldrick's fundraiser held at Looneys Pub in College Park held on Saturday, March 10, 2012.

Nearly 70 firefighters had their heads shaved to reveal a glistening dome.  One particularly hairy participant raised an additional $200 to have a design shaved into his  chest.  Firefighters collected pledges, sold t-shirts and held 50-50 raffles to raise funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

The event Saturday raised nearly $20,000 and counting.
