At about 3:30 pm, Wednesday, July 25, firefighters were dispatched to the Henson Creek Golf Course located in the 1600 block of Tucker Road in Fort Washington. The golf course is operated by the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission.

Firefighters arrived to find a large garage designed to store golf carts well involved with fire.
It required about 45 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the fire which generated a large plume of black smoking rising high into the sky that could be seen for miles.

The cause of the fire is under investigations and fire loss is estimated at $150,000.  No injuries were reported.

County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor was on the scene and provided the attached images.
