TUESDAY NEWS CONFERENCE TO REUNITE RESCUED CHILDREN WITH PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY PERSONNEL

A news conference will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, at Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Station 832 reuniting Marcus and Aaliyah McCoy with the Public Safety Communications 911 call-taker, fire dispatcher, as well as the firefighters who rescued them from their burning home.
At 0657 hours on Sunday, April 19, Public Safety Communications received a 911 call from 13-year-old Marcus McCoy stating he and his sister, Aaliyah, were trapped inside their burning home at the 9600 block of Small Drive in Clinton, Md. Marcus remained calm and relayed to the 911 call-taker the location of where he and his sister were trapped inside the home. Firefighters promptly initiated an aggressive interior fire attack and simultaneously searched the home and located the children in an upper level bedroom. Both of the children were rescued by firefighters and removed via ground ladders and received EMS care.
The composure Marcus displayed, combined with the actions of the dispatchers, enabled the firefighters to quickly locate and rescue these children.
