Statement from Acting Fire Chief Benjamin M. Barksdale on his first official day to all civilian, career and volunteer members of the Fire/EMS Department:
I am proud and privileged to serve as the Acting
Fire Chief for the Prince George's County Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Department.
My core mission as your Fire Chief will be to
continue with progressive efforts in improving our Fire/EMS Department toward
meeting all fire and EMS demands of the community. This will be achieved
through capital improvement projects, increased staffing, training, long term
apparatus replacement plans and improving safety within our agency.
