On Friday, September 25, 2009, at about 6:00 PM, Firefighters from the Riverdale area were alerted to a building fire. Fire/EMS units arrived at a large vacant warehouse with fire and smoke showing. The warehouse was the former Lustine Collision Center, 4510 Longfellow Street, which has been shuttered for some time waiting redevelopment. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 30 minutes and then firefighters spent several hours to completely extinguish and overhaul the burning contents. Fire Investigators have the fire listed as under investigation with no fire loss listed at this time. There were no injuries.
