Pedestrian Incidents Send 3 to Trauma Centers

Two separate pedestrian incidents occurred this evening that sent three adults to a Trauma Center in critical condition.

Just after 5:30 pm, Wednesday, December 08, 2010, Prince George’s County Firefighters and Paramedics were alerted to a pedestrian incident with multiple victims. A County Police officer happened upon the scene at County Road and Walker Mill Road in District Heights where an adult female and adult male had been struck by a vehicle. Fire/EMS units arrived quickly assessed the patients and initiated immediate treatment. The two adults were transported by paramedics to a Trauma Center in extremely critical, life threatening conditions.


The Prince George’s County Police Department was on the scene and investigating the incident.

Earlier in the evening at about 5:00 pm, an adult male was struck in the parking lot of Mitchellville Plaza at Central Avenue and Enterprise Road in Mitchellville. Firefighter/Medics arrived to find a pedestrian had been struck and was underneath an SUV. Firefighters worked quickly to free the trapped man. After being extricated paramedics treated the 70ish year old male suffering life threatening injuries and transported him to a Trauma Center. The County Police are investigating this incident.
