Prince George's County Firefighters dealt with a house fire in Clinton this afternoon that injured an adult male occupant. At about 4:00 pm, Fire/EMS units responded to a reported house fire at 5820 Barnes Drive and arrived to find a 2-story home with heavy fire showing from the attached garage. A partial collapse of the structure occurred forcing firefighters to evacuate the house. An adult male occupant was found outside the house suffering from smoke inhalation and burn injuries. Paramedics tended to his injuries and transported him to a Burn Unit. His injuries are serious but do not appear to be life threatening.
The house sustained considerable damage and is uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
