Prince George’s County Firefighters quickly contained a fire in a Landover apartment this morning. There were no injuries reported in this 10:30 am fire at 3929 Warner Avenue, a 3-story garden style apartment building, in the Coopers Crossing apartment complex. Firefighters arrived to find smoking coming from a terrace level apartment and through a coordinated effort evacuated all residents and extinguished the fire. It required about 5 to10 minutes for the 35 firefighters to contain and extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation and fire loss is estimated at about $5,000.
Apartment complex management will assist the 5 families that consist of 15 residents that were displaced. The majority of those displaced will be for a short term and may be able to return as soon as later today.
