Bomb Squad Personnel Investigate Unattended Package in Berwyn Heights
This morning shortly after 1130, Public Safety Communications (PSC) received a call for a Unattended package (suitcase) on the sidewalk at the entrance to the Westchester Park residential area in the 6200 block of Westchester Park. Fire/EMS Bomb Squad personnel, along with County Police officers were dispatched to the scene. Kenilworth Avenue was closed down for about 25 minutes in both directions while Bomb Squad Personnel evaluated the package and it was determined to be empty and non-hazardous. There were no evacuations from the buildings or area and units returned to service without further incident.
