Baden/Brandywine House Fire on Friday Mornng - Bald Eagle School Road

Firefighters from the Baden/Brandywine area battled a fire in a large single family home early Friday, March 30.  Fire/EMS units were alerted around 3:00 am for a house fire in the 16200 block of Bald Eagle School Road and arrived to find a 7000 square-foot single family home with smoke showing.  A fire was located in a basement bedroom which required about 40 minutes for firefighters to extinguish.

A precautionary second alarm was sounded in the event the fire spread to other areas of the large structure.  This area is does not have the protection of fire hydrants.  Five water tankers from Prince George's and surrounding counties were utilized to provide more than adequate water supply for firefighters to extinguish the fire.

Four adults and an infant were displaced and assisted by the County Citizen Services Unit.  One female was evaluated on the scene by Paramedics but did not go to the hospital.  No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and fire investigators estimate fire loss somewhere between $50,000 to $100,000.
