Just after 11 am today firefighters from the Upper Marlboro area were dispatched to a house on fire. Fire/EMS units arrived at 7300 Loanda Drive to find a 2-story single family home, split foyer, ordinary construction, with heavy fire on the top floor and through the roof.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down in about 15 minutes. One firefighter was transported to an area hospital after suffering chest pains. No one was home and no civilian injuries were reported.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
