Firefighters arrived in the 5800 block of Spokane Drive in Oxon Hill shortly after 10:00 this morning and advised of a working fire. First arriving firefighters advised of a 2-story duplex with fire showing from the top floor. Crews initiated an interior attack on the fire and search of the structure. The fire in a 2nd floor bedroom was located and extinguished within 8 minutes of arrival and all searches proved negative. A quick knock down of the fire prevented any fire extension to the attached home.
An investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire will be conducted. Estimated fire loss is still being tabulated. No injuries have been reported
