Vacant House Fire with an Arrest

On Saturday, December 15, firefighters battled a fire in an abandoned Seat Pleasant house.  At about 12:30 pm firefighters were alerted to smoke coming from a house in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue and arrived to find a 2-story vacant structure with a working fire on the second floor.

It required about 25 minutes for 35 firefighters to extinguish the fire. One firefighter sustained a burn injury to his ears and was treated and released from the Burn Unit.

Fire loss is estimated at $100,000. Fire Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set and a 42 year old male was arrested on the scene and charged with Arson.
