The Prince George’s County Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department and the City of Laurel Police Department have been conducting a joint investigation to identify the person(s) responsible for a number of fires occurring in and around the City, including playgrounds. The majority of these incidents occurred in the month of March. These incidents include a number of arson fires along with two fires of an undetermined nature that remains under investigation and are considered “incidents of interest.”
A reward has been established by the City of Laurel in the hopes of attracting information about these incidents. The City of Laurel Mayor and Fire Chief of the County Fire/EMS Department will be joined by lead investigators from each agency to discuss these incidents, reward fund and what citizens can do to help find who is responsible.
