PGFD "PINKY" and Fire Chief Attend Congressional Women's Softball Game


Prince George's County Fire Chief Marc S. Bashoor and members of his Community Outreach staff joined fans at the well-attended the Congressional Women's Softball Game on Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013.  A bi-partisan group of women Members of Congress took the field against the the women of the DC Press Corps.   Chief Bashoor and his entourage were able to meet with many elected leaders and members of the press corp after arriving on-board "Pinky," a pink PGFD fire pumper used to raise Breast Cancer Awareness.  The Press Corps edged out the Congressional Women in a close hard-fought game.  

The game is a fund-raiser with an admission charge of $10.  Proceeds from the Congressional Women’s Softball Game benefit the Young Survival Coalition, the premier global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Chief Bashoor was joined by his wife Laura, Community Advisory Coordinator Diana Fennell, Community Developer Damu McBride and Fire Fighter Joe King.
