Reporter Feels Her Stories - Fire Ops 101

This package is by news reporter Natalie Wilson from Prince George's Community Television as she covers a Fire Ops 101; a program designed to raise the awareness of elected officials and media about firefighting.  The event was sponsored by the Prince George's County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Association in conjunction with the Fire/EMS Department and the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) in College Park.

This is not her first story that she really got involved with.  Earlier this year Natalie participated with the Fire/EMS Department during ice rescue drills.

Congratulations to Natalie, her editor's and PGCTV for knowing how to get involved and get the story right!!!

Career Recruit School 42 Family Night

The Fire/EMS Training Academy hosted a “Family Night” for Career Recruit School (CRS) 42. Acting Fire Chief Marc Bashoor along with members of his Command Staff were in attendance at the Fire/EMS Training Academy in Cheltenham on Friday, April 29, 2011.   CRS 42’s final burn included night time operations with live fire evolutions. Families were encouraged to come and watch the night training. Students were given the opportunity to eat with family members and introduce them to the Academy Staff during their dinner break. Around 60 family members attended Family Night for our 26 recruits.
