Bowie Fire is Suspicious

Prince George's Fire Investigators have declared that a fire in Bowie this morning is suspicious. At around 5:00 am, Sunday, April 14, firefighters responded to the 3600 block of Elder Oaks Boulevard and found several vehicles and a detached carport well involved with fire.  The fire was extinguished within a short period of time with no injuries being reported.

It appears a vehicle parked next to the carport was the point of origin. The fire spread to the carport and damaged a total of eight vehicles parked outside and under the carport. Investigators estimate fire loss at $90,000. The investigation of this incident remains open and under investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Fire Investigators at 301-77-ARSON (301-772-7766).
