A fire of an undetermined cause and origin triggered total destruction of a Mt. Rainier home this morning.    Firefighters were dispatched just before 5:30 am to a 2-story single family home in the 4000 block of 37th Street and arrived to find the structure well involved with fire.  The fire was burning so intensely that homes on either side of the house of origin also sustained fire and heat damage.

It required over an hour for firefighters to extinguish the fire.

The home is typically occupied by a sole adult male.  He was not at home this morning.

Fire loss is estimated at $450,000 to all three homes and contents.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
